19. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING ALLOWANCE
19.1 Where it is necessary that an employee wear suitable protective clothing, the employer must reimburse the employee for the cost of purchasing such clothing. The provisions of this clause do not apply where the special clothing is supplied to the employee at the employer’s expense. Where protective clothing is supplied without cost to the employee, it will remain the property of the employer.
19.2 Where an employee as a result of performing any duty required by the Employer, and as a result of negligence of the employer, suffers any damage or soiling of clothing or other personal equipment, including spectacles, the Employer shall be liable for the replacement, repair or cleaning of such clothing or personal equipment including spectacles.
