23.1 Subject to clause 23.1.1 an employer may require an employee to work reasonable overtime at overtime rates.
23.1.1 An employee may refuse to work overtime in circumstances where the working of such overtime would result in the employee working hours which are unreasonable having regard to:
23.1.1(a) any risk to employee health and safety;
23.1.1(b) the employee's personal circumstances including any family responsibilities;
23.1.1(c) the needs of the workplace or enterprise;
23.1.1(d) the notice (if any) given by the employer of the overtime and by the employee of his or her intention to refuse it; and
23.1.1(e) any other relevant matter.
23.2 All authorised time in addition to the rostered ordinary hours shall be deemed to be overtime and shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter. In calculating the payment for overtime each day’s work shall stand alone, except that overtime commenced on one day and concluded on the succeeding day shall be regarded as continuous when calculating the rate of payment applicable.
23.3 No payment shall be made for overtime worked for periods of less than fifteen minutes.
23.4 Where an employee works rostered ordinary time on a Saturday or Sunday, all time worked beyond the rostered ordinary hours will be paid at double time.
23.5 An employee, after completion of overtime work performed on the specific instruction of the Employer, shall be entitled to be absent until the employee has had ten consecutive hours off duty without deduction of pay for ordinary time of duty occurring during the employee’s absence.
23.5.1 If, on the specific instructions of the Employer, an employee resumes work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty, the employee shall be paid at the rate of double time until the employee is relieved from the duty to take such rest period and the employee shall then be entitled to be absent until the employee has had ten consecutive hours off duty without deduction of pay for ordinary time of duty occurring during the employee’s absence.
23.6 Where an employee, who is not rostered to work on a weekend, is required to work overtime on a Saturday or a Sunday or a public holiday, the employee shall be afforded at least three hours’ work or paid for three hours at the appropriate rate except where such overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the day previous.
23.7 An employee recalled to work overtime, after leaving the Employer’s business premises shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at the appropriate overtime rate.
23.8 An employee working overtime shall be allowed a paid meal break of twenty minutes after each four hours of overtime worked if the employee continues to work after such meal break.

23.9 An employee who is required, without prior notice to ceasing work on the previous day, to perform overtime duty in excess of two hours after their usual ceasing time shall be paid $8.99 as a meal allowance.
23.10 Employees shall not be required to work standby.
23.11 All overtime for employees beyond the end of rostered twelve hour shifts shall be paid at the rate of double time.
