21.1 Double time shall be the special rate for all work done on Sundays, New Year’s Day, Australia Day, Union Picnic Day in respect of employees who are members of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees’ Association, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Labour Day, Queen’s Birthday, Melbourne Show Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but if any other day be by Act of Parliament or Proclamation substituted for any of the abovenamed holidays then the special rate shall be payable only for the day so substituted. Provided that in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong the local Cup Day shall be substituted for Melbourne Cup Day and the local Show Day or Picnic Day shall be substituted for Melbourne Show Day.
21.2 If an employee works on any of the holidays set out in clause 30 - Holidays, he/she shall in addition to the special rate provided in 21.1, receive by mutual consent one day off, or one day shall be added to his/her annual leave.
