33. TRAVELLING TIME AND ALLOWANCE

33.1 Application

This clause does not apply to Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.

33.2 Travel away from home base

33.2.1 If an employee is required to travel on duty away from his or her home base:

33.2.1(a) the employee must be paid the travelling allowances specified by the Company;

33.2.1(b) the employee must be paid for all time spent travelling outside the employee's normal working hours at ordinary rates of pay;

33.2.1(c) if the employee is required to travel to or from engineering school, any time spent travelling on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays must be paid at the appropriate penalty rate.

33.3 Travel away from home base for aircraft rectification.

33.3.1 If an employee is required to travel on duty away from the employee's home base for the purpose of aircraft rectification:

33.3.1(a) the employee must be paid in accordance with the employee's home base roster;

33.3.1(b) the employee must be paid the appropriate penalty rate for all travel and/or time worked outside the employee's normal rostered hours. If, however, return travel is undertaken after a ten hour break, that travel must be paid at ordinary time;

33.3.1(c) the employee must be paid at the appropriate penalty rate for travel on rostered days off, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays;

33.3.1(d) the employee must either be provided with full board and accommodation of an acceptable standard or paid a suitable allowance.

33.3.1(e) the employee must be allowed a minimum rest break of ten hours following the employee's return to home base.
