25.1 Travelling and motor vehicle allowance

25.1.1 Should an employee be required to use their own vehicle on the employer’s business, the employee is to receive a vehicle allowance at the following rate:
25.1.1(a) Under 6 cylinder 65.3 cents per kilometre
25.1.1(b) 6 cylinder and over 77.7 cents per kilometre
25.1.2 An employee required to travel by other means in connection with his\her work shall be reimbursed all reasonable travelling expenses so incurred with reasonable proof of such expenses to be provided by the employee to the employer.
25.1.3 Where an employee is called out on duty at night or at other than their normal hours, or on any non-working day they shall be reimbursed their fares including taxi fares, or if using their own vehicle to travel between their home and place of work, they shall receive a travelling allowance, as set out in 25.1.1 above, providing that the employee returns home prior to commencing work.
25.2 Travelling expenses
An employee required to stay away from home overnight shall be reimbursed the cost of reasonable board, lodgings and meals. Reasonable proof of costs so incurred is to be provided by the employee to their employer.
25.3 Higher duties
An employee who is called upon by the employer to perform duties of another employee in a higher classification for five consecutive days or more shall be paid for the period for which duties are assumed at a rate not less than the minimum rate prescribed for the higher classification.
25.4 Overtime meal allowances

25.4.1 Employees shall be entitled to a reasonable meal or a meal allowance of $10.51 in the following circumstances:
25.4.1(a) where the employee works overtime in excess of two hours on any of the days upon which ordinary hours are worked; or
25.4.1(b) where the employee works five hours or more on a day which is not an ordinary working day.
25.5 Standby/Oncall allowance
25.5.1 Where an employee on standby is required to sleep on the employer’s premises, 25.6 shall apply.
25.5.2 The standby provisions of this clause shall not replace the overtime or shift provisions of this award.
25.5.3 Other than in extraordinary circumstances, an employee shall not be required to perform more than two periods of standby in any two weekly cycle.
25.5.4 When an employee is required to be on call and the means of contact is to be by telephone, the employer shall:
25.5.4(a) where the employee does not already have a telephone, pay the cost of such installation;
25.5.4(b) where the employee pays or contributes towards the payment of the rental of such telephone, pay the employee one half of the rental costs.
25.5.5 An employee shall be reimbursed the cost of all telephone calls made on behalf of the employer as a result of out of hour’s contact.

25.5.6 An employee rostered to be on-call shall receive an additional amount as follows:-
25.5.6(a) $16.66 for each 24 hour period or part thereof when the on-call period is between rostered shifts of ordinary hours Monday to Friday inclusive;
25.5.6(b) $24.92 for each 24 hour period or part thereof when the on-call period is on a Saturday;
25.5.6(c) $29.12 for each 24 hour period or part thereof when the on-call period is on a Sunday, public holiday or a day when the employee is rostered off duty.
Payment shall be calculated by reference to that allowance specified in 25.5.6 hereof applicable to the calendar day on which the major portion of the on-call period falls.
25.6 Sleepovers

25.6.1 Where an employee is required to sleep overnight on the employer’s premises for a period not exceeding eight hours an allowance of $34.62 shall be paid in respect to each instance in addition to any other payments. All board and lodgings shall be provided free of charge to an employee in respect of each such instance.
25.6.2 An employee on sleepover shall be provided with at least four hours’ work or payment therefore, for each instance where the employee is required. Such work shall be performed immediately before or immediately after the sleepover period. The payment prescribed by 25.6.1 hereof shall be in addition to the payment prescribed by this subclause.
25.6.3 In the event of the employee on sleepover as provided herein, being required to perform work during the period, the employee shall be paid for the time worked at the prescribed overtime rate with a minimum payment as for one hour worked. Where such work exceeds one hour, payment shall be made at the prescribed overtime rate for the duration of the work.
25.6.4 An alternative arrangement which is no less favourable than 25.6.3 above may be entered into in writing between the employer and employee.
25.7 First Aid

An employee who holds a current first aid certificate issued by St John’s Ambulance Association or the Australian Red Cross Society or equivalent qualification, and who is designated by his/her employer to perform first aid duty at his/her workplace shall be paid an allowance of $9.25 per week.
