15. CALL-OUTS

15.1 Employees recalled to work after leaving the employer's premises (whether notified before or after leaving the premises) shall be paid a minimum of four hours work at the appropriate overtime rate. Where the employees have been paid for standing by in accordance with clause 16 - Stand by, they shall be paid for the minimum of three hours work at the appropriate overtime rate, for each time recalled; provided that, except in the case of unforeseen circumstances arising, employees shall not be required to work the full three or four hours if the job is completed within a shorter period. This subclause shall not apply in cases where:

15.1.1 it is customary for employees to return to their employer's premises to perform specific jobs outside ordinary working hours; or

15.1.2 the overtime is continuous (subject to a reasonable meal break) with the completion or commencement of ordinary working time.

15.2 Overtime worked in the circumstances specified in this clause shall not be regarded as overtime for the purposes of 14.5 where the actual time worked is less than three hours on such recall or on each of such recalls.

15.3 Should such employees, whilst attending a call-out, receive subsequent call-outs prior to actually returning home, they shall, if received within three hours of the original call-out, be regarded as within the original call-out.

15.4 Should an employee, being an employee whose classification is prescribed as indoor work, consider it not necessary to remain continuously on a site whilst remedial works are being carried out and returns home, but subsequently returns to the site, such second or subsequent return to the site shall be regarded as part of the original call-out.
