8. TYPES OF EMPLOYMENT

8.1 Employees may be employed on the following basis:

8.2 Probationary employment

An employee shall be appointed subject to a probationary period of three months. During the period of probation either party may give four weeks’ notice or such lesser period as is agreed between the employee and the employer. In the event of an employee being dismissed during the probationary period, such a dismissal will not prejudice the employee’s right to access the Unlawful Termination provisions of the Workplace Relations Act 1996 as varied.

8.3 Part-time employment

The hours of work for a part-time employee shall be determined by agreement between the employee and the employer but within the span of hours contained in 15.2. A part-time employee shall be paid for each hour of the hours worked on the basis of one thirty-eighth of the weekly rate of pay as for a full-time employee and the employee shall be entitled to Annual Leave, Long Service Leave, Sick Leave, and Superannuation on a pro rata basis as for a full-time employee.
