The Registered Organisations Advisory Committee (ROAC) has been established to help the General Manager ensure the transparency and accountability of organisations for the benefit of their members.
ROAC does this by the members sharing information and feedback about:
- promoting good governance
- promoting voluntary compliance, and
- ensuring registered organisations are accountable to their members’ interests.
The General Manager established the Registered Organisations Advisory Committee (ROAC) after the success of the Registered Organisations Transitional Advisory Committee, which was created to help with the transition of the previous Registered Organisations Commission to the Fair Work Commission.
On recommendation from the 2023 Governance and Compliance External Review of the Fair Work Commission’s registered organisations functions, the ROAC now functions as a permanent advisory group.
ROAC meets quarterly and is made up of:
- the Australia Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- the Australian Council of Trade Unions
- the Australian Industry Group, and
- our General Manager as the independent regulator.
