Modern Awards Pay Database

The Modern Awards Pay Database contains the calculated minimum rates of pay, allowances, overtime and penalty rates in modern awards.

The data for each modern award is divided into 5 spreadsheets:

  1. awards
  2. classifications
  3. wage-related allowances
  4. expense-related allowances
  5. penalty rates.

We use the Modern Awards Pay Database to update modern awards efficiently following each year’s Annual Wage Review decision. We have made data from the Database freely accessible to users in order to give them an opportunity to explore other potential uses for the data.

The data are available to download in Excel spreadsheets. If you require a copy in csv format please email awards@fwc.gov.au.

We take care to ensure that data extracts are accurate at the time of publication but do not guarantee, and accept no legal liability whatsoever arising from or connected to, the accuracy, reliability, currency or completeness of the data in the Modern Awards Pay Database.

While we publish updated data extracts as soon as possible following changes to the minimum rates of pay, allowances and penalty rates in modern awards, there may be a delay between when changes take effect and when we publish the updated data extract.

Data extracts must be read in conjunction with the provisions in the modern award. If there is an inconsistency between the data extract and the modern award, the modern award prevails.

We are making ongoing improvements to the Modern Awards Pay Database. The data structure and data will change as these improvements are rolled out.

2026 data

The 2026 data incorporates all amendments arising from the Annual Wage Review 2026.

Latest updates

25 June 2026

The 2026 data has been published to reflect the outcomes of the Annual Wage Decision 2026.

The changes are operative from 1 July 2026.

The 2025 extracts have also been updated for changes to the OperativeTo date of each record.

In addition, variations to the Pharmacy Award 2020 (PR810422) and Children's Services Award 2010 (PR810424), operative 30 June 2026, are included in the 2025 extracts for classifications, wage allowances and penalty rates. The varied rates have also been updated in accordance with the Annual Wage Review decision and are included in the 2026 extracts.

Retained rates may apply to some employees. These rates are not reflected in the extracts. 

Consistent with Decision [2026] FWCFB 136, re-referenced CPI figures and the March Quarter data has been applied to expense-related allowances, and are included in both the 2025 and 2026 extracts.

The 2025 wage-related allowance data extracts have been updated to reflect a correction made to the Children's Services Award 2010 by PR810425, operative from 28 May 2026

Privacy

The personal information we collect in the Feedback form may be used for research related to modern awards and to help us improve the data being provided and method of delivery. We may publish research relating to the Modern Awards Pay Database that includes some of your feedback on our website. Any feedback that you provide will be de-identified prior to publication.

If you request data extracts by emailing awards@fwc.gov.au, we will use the personal information included in your email (for example, your email address) for the purpose of dealing with your request.  

The Fair Work Commission's Privacy policy contains information about how we use and disclose personal information we collect, including how a person may request access to or correction of their personal information.
