An Expert Panel for the road transport industry is required for cases relating to:
- making or varying modern awards that might relate to the road transport industry
- road transport minimum standards orders
- road transport guidelines
- road transport contractual chain orders
- road transport contractual chain guidelines.
The road transport industry is defined at section 15S of the Fair Work Act 2009.
An Expert Panel for the road transport industry may also be directed to determine employee-like worker minimum standards orders that relate to the road transport industry.
A majority of Expert Panel members have knowledge or experience relating to the road transport industry.
Road transport objective
The Expert Panel for the road transport industry must consider the road transport objective when it performs its functions.
