Introduction
On 14 October 2025 the Chief Executive Officer of the Net Zero Economy Authority lodged an application under section 56(1) of the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024 for us to make a community of interest determination.
Content
The application relates to the Torrens Island Power Station B, scheduled to commence closing in June 2026 through to 30 June 2028.
If we make a community of interest determination, it formally establishes the Energy Industry Jobs Plan for the closure of a gas-fired or coal-fired power station. Employers included in a community of interest determination have certain obligations under the Energy Industry Jobs Plan to support employees to prepare for new jobs.
