The Transport Workers' Union of Australia (TWU) and the Australian Road Transport Industrial Organization (ARTIO) applied for a road transport contractual chain order.
An Expert Panel for the road transport industry has made a time-sensitive road transport contractual chain order. The order is about adjusting rates to ensure that parties in road transport contractual chains recover the increased cost of fuel caused by conflict in the Middle East.
On 29 May 2026, the Expert Panel issued a notice of intent to make changes to the Road Transport Contractual Chain Order – Fuel Cost Recovery – 2026. Reply submissions were due on 12 June 2026.

On 19 June 2026, due to a change in circumstances, the Expert Panel issued a Statement inviting further submissions. Responses to the Statement are due by 4PM (AEST) on Friday, 3 July 2026. Read the Statement for more information: Statement [2026] FWCFB 150.

On 20 April 2026, an Expert Panel for the Road Transport Industry made the Road Transport Contractual Chain Order – Fuel Cost Recovery – 2026.

It covers people in road transport contractual chains involving the performance of work in the road transport industry.
It does not cover the cash in transit industry.
