Torrens Island B Power Station closure ASU & AGL applications (NZ2026/2 & 3)

On 20 November 2025, we made a community of interest determination in relation to the closure of the Torrens Island B Power Station. The determination specified AGL Energy Ltd and AGL Torrens Island Pty Ltd (together, AGL) as a closing employer for the purposes of the NZEA Act. The determination established the Energy Industry Jobs Plan for the closure. The Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (ASU) and AGL have applied to us under section 61 of the NZEA Act for us to determine the actions to be taken by the closing employer under section 59 of the NZEA Act.
