Introduction
On 30 June 2026 the Chief Executive Officer, Net Zero Economy Authority (CEO) lodged an application under section 56(1) of the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024 for us to make a community of interest determination.
Content
The application relates to the Yallourn Power Station, scheduled to close by 1 July 2028.
If we make a community of interest determination, it formally establishes the Energy Industry Jobs Plan for the closure of a gas-fired or coal-fired power station. Employers included in a community of interest determination have certain obligations under the Energy Industry Jobs Plan to support employees.
