The supreme governing authority of the organisation is vested in the National Federal Council, which comprises the Office Bearers, delegates from branches and established sections. The organisation is also governed by a Federal Executive and a Federal Management Committee. The branches are each governed by a Branch Council.
The organisation is a reporting unit for the purposes of filing a financial report.
Under the rules of the organisation, elections for offices are conducted every 3 years. The organisation currently holds an exemption from having its elections conducted by the AEC.
