Emergency hearings outside of business hours

If you need an emergency hearing outside of business hours (for example, an application to stop unprotected industrial action), please call 0438 244 996 and leave a voice message.

This telephone number is not for questions about applications such as unfair dismissal, general protections, bullying or sexual harassment. Please contact our Helpline on 1300 799 675 if you need help with one of these matters.

Lodging an application over the holiday period

You can lodge an application at any time over the holiday period.

Apply online through our MyFWC portal to make:

  • an unfair dismissal application (Form F2)
  • a general protections application involving dismissal (Form F8).

Apply through our Online Lodgment Service to make:

  • a general protections application not involving dismissal (Form F8C)
  • an application for the Commission to deal with an unlawful termination dispute (Form F9)
  • an application for approval of an enterprise agreement, other than a greenfields agreement (Form F16)
  • an application for an order to stop bullying at work (form F72 upload).

You can also lodge an application by sending us your completed form by email.

Find out more on our How to apply webpage.

21-day time limit for dismissal applications

There is a 21-day time limit for lodging unfair dismissal applications and general protections dismissal applications. The time-limit is set by law. This deadline still applies even if our office or counter is closed.

You can apply or lodge your form online or by email when we’re closed. It is very important that you get your application in before the deadline. Find out more information about the 21 day time limit on our Deadlines webpage.
