Collaborative Approaches User Group
The Collaborative Approaches Program User Group provides a forum for managers and union officials who are involved in Collaborative Approaches program matters to share experiences with each other and provide feedback to us about the Collaborative Approaches program.
Compliance Practitioners Reference Group
The Compliance Practitioners Reference Group was established following a recommendation from the 2023 Governance and Compliance External Review of our registered organisations functions.
This group is made up of subject matter experts from our Registered Organisations Services Branch and representatives from registered organisations who have been nominated by members of the Registered Organisations Advisory Committee. It provides timely feedback on compliance-related issues affecting registered organisations, their members, branches and officers.
Energy Industry Worker Redeployment Advisory Group
The Energy Industry Worker Redeployment Advisory Group (EIWRAG) was made under the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024 (NZEA Act). Its members are appointed by the minister responsible for the NZEA Act.
When we get applications under the NZEA Act we give the EIWRAG an opportunity to provide information. The EIWRAG can give information, but it can’t make decisions.
Enterprise Agreements and Bargaining Advisory Group
The Enterprise Agreements and Bargaining Advisory Group consists of representatives of users who have been impacted by the legislative changes to the enterprise bargaining and enterprise agreement approval processes made by the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022.
This advisory group provided advice during the implementation of the legislative changes and now provides ongoing feedback about the practical operation of these changes, as well as other legislative changes.
Legal Assistance Stakeholder user group
The Legal Assistance Stakeholder user group helps us share information and make better decisions. The group helps us find solutions that work well for our users as well as our organisation. The group gives professionals working in the sector a chance to talk with us about the needs and concerns of the people they support.
The user group is chaired by Vice President Gibian and supported by our staff. Meetings take place quarterly.
Current member organisations include:
- Community Legal Centres Australia
- Women’s Working Centres Australia
- National Legal Aid
Registered Organisations Advisory Committee
The Registered Organisations Advisory Committee was established to provide feedback and advice on matters about the regulation of registered organisations. This committee assists the General Manager to ensure the transparency and accountability of organisations for the benefit of their members.
Membership includes the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Australian Council of Trade Unions, the Australian Industry Group and the General Manager as the independent regulator.
Regulated Worker User Group
Our Regulated Worker User Group was established to gain insights and advice as we implement our new regulated worker functions.
This group helps us connect with regulated workers and regulated businesses. It consists of regulated workers, regulated businesses, representative and community organisations and other interested persons.
Road Transport Advisory Group
The Road Transport Advisory Group (RTAG) is created under the Fair Work Act 2009 and it advises us about performing our role in the road transport industry.
Its members are from organisations representing regulated road transport contractors and road transport businesses.
The group advises us on behalf of industry participants. RTAG can consult broadly, including by forming subcommittees with industry participants who are not members of the group.
Rules and Benchbooks Committee
The Rules and Benchbooks Committee is responsible for overseeing and reviewing proposed changes to:
- The Fair Work Commission Rules 2024
- Benchbooks and practice notes that provide guidance to practitioners and the public on jurisdiction and procedures
- Approved forms used for lodging and responding to applications
The Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis and is currently chaired by the President, Justice Hatcher.
Small Business Reference Group
The Small Business Reference Group is a forum for small businesses and their representatives to provide feedback on our initiatives and assist us to continue to improve our services.
Membership consists of peak bodies that represent small business, small business operator members of peak bodies, and government bodies such as the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman.
