Each year we review wages for employees in the national workplace relations system. This includes wages for employees with an award and those who are not covered by an award or enterprise agreement. At the end of the review process, the Commission issues the order that sets the rates.

The National Minimum Wage Order is a result of the Commission’s Annual wage review.
The order comes into operation on 1 July each year and covers employees in the national system. The 2022 order applies to the employee’s first full pay period that starts on or after 1 July 2022.

In its Annual Wage Review 2021–22 decision, the Commission's Expert Panel decided on an increase of $40 per week to the national minimum wage.
